A stranding or bunching die guides multiple individual wires into a single unified strand — controlling lay and geometry as they converge. A compacting die then reduces the stranded bundle's cross-section, improving mechanical stability, eliminating voids, and producing a denser, rounder conductor. At Walson Woodburn, we work directly with your cable design team to optimise die geometry for your specific compaction target — achieving higher fill factors and smaller overall cable diameters without compromising Conductor Resistance (CR) values.
